On the afternoon of April 29, the 2023U.I.M.F1 Motorboat World Championship China Zhengzhou Grand Prix kicked off the battle in the waters of Longhu, Zhengdong New District, where 20 F1 motorboats from 10 international teams staged the water "Fast and Furious".
The Zhengzhou Grand Prix is the first stop of the F1 Motorboat World Championship "return" to China after three years, and it is also the highest specification and highest level of water power boat event held in Zhengzhou up to now, and it is also the first international event held in Zhengzhou this year. A total of 20 international top racers from more than 10 countries and regions such as Portugal, Sweden, Norway and other F1 motorboat "super license" formed 10 international teams to participate in the competition.
The F1 Motorboat World Championship is an international Class A event organized by the International Motorboat Federation in 1981, representing the highest level of water power racing.
The breathtaking and entertaining nature of the F1 Motorboat World Championship lies in its speed, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds, and reaching a maximum speed of 280 km/h. The combination of its driver technology, motorboat and engine technology represents a transcendence of human's challenge to the speed limit, and is a natural carrier and symbol of high speed and high-tech in modern civilization.
The event is sponsored by International Motorboat Federation, Water Sports Management Center of State General Administration of Sport, China Water Ski Motorboat Federation, Henan Provincial Sports Bureau, Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government, co-organized by Zhengzhou Municipal Sports Bureau and Zhengdong New District Management Committee.
During the competition, the "wave" life carnival activity was also held, and 15 national characteristics booths were set up to show the characteristics of each country's culture, and food areas, camping areas, sports areas and exhibitions of car companies and housing companies were set up. In the form of "sports +" driving "economy +", sports platform and economic and trade opera were realized. At the same time, through holding local cultural activities such as Henan opera, Shaolin Kung Fu, Central Plains food, so that the racers feel the thick Chinese culture.
On the afternoon of April 29, the signing ceremony of key projects of F1 motorboat Competition in Zhengdong New District was held at the same time in the Wisdom Island Building of Longzi Lake in Zhengdong New District. A total of 24 projects were signed at the signing ceremony. Among them, the Advanced Manufacturing Development Zone of Zhengdong New District has attracted 8 contracted projects, with a total investment of about 1.5 billion yuan, covering intelligent manufacturing, information services, biomedics and other fields.
Zhengdong New District is known as the "beautiful city of water", the total length of the ecological water system is about 117 kilometers, the water area is about 18 square kilometers, with 50% of the core area greening rate and the ecological water network all over the region. The main venue of the event, Longhu Water Canal, integrates transportation, sports competition and leisure and entertainment. The river is long, the water surface is wide and the water level is high, which is the perfect venue for water events.
